Content Acquisition

Location- Noida, Sector 125 (Full Time)

Key Responsibilities

1. Own end-to-end content acquisition cycles from scouting and evaluation to deal closure and onboarding
2. Negotiate content rights across SVOD, AVOD, and TVOD models with studios, aggregators, independent producers, and distributors
3. Build and manage a robust content pipeline aligned with STAGE's platform strategy, audience preferences, and regional focus
4. Acquire multi-language rights including dubbing and subtitling across Indian and select international markets
5. Conduct due diligence on content assessing quality, audience fit, rights clarity, and commercial viability
6. Track and analyse content performance metrics and market trends to continuously refine the acquisition strategy
7. Manage and grow relationships with key content partners studios, production houses, aggregators, and distributors
8. Collaborate with programming, legal, finance, and marketing teams to ensure smooth contracting, compliance, and platform launches
9. Maintain accurate deal trackers, content pipelines, and acquisition forecasts for leadership reporting
10. Identify emerging content trends in regional, Hindi, and international markets and proactively build a future content slate

5. Partner network expansion A growing roster of reliable content partners studios, producers, aggregators who prioritise STAGE in their distribution conversations
6. Cost-effective acquisitions Strong negotiation outcomes that maximise content value relative to investment
7. Cross-functional alignment Zero bottlenecks in content delivery, contracting, or launch due to internal coordination gaps

Must-Have Requirements

• 56 years of direct experience in content acquisition, content licensing, or digital rights management
• Prior experience at an OTT platform, streaming service, or film distribution company
• Hands-on experience negotiating SVOD, AVOD, and/or TVOD content deals end-to-end
• Demonstrated ability to structure and close content deals independently
• Working knowledge of digital rights, licensing agreements, and rights compliance
• Experience acquiring content across multiple languages or regional markets
• Strong commercial and financial acumen ability to evaluate deal economics and model content value

Should-Have Requirements

• Existing relationships with studios, independent producers, aggregators, or distributors in the Indian media ecosystem
• Experience with multi-language rights acquisition including dubbing and subtitling
• Ability to evaluate content using audience data, performance metrics, and market trends
• Exposure to cross-functional collaboration working with legal, finance, programming, and marketing teams
• Familiarity with content deal structures for both exclusive and non-exclusive arrangements
• Experience preparing and maintaining deal trackers, pipeline reports, and acquisition forecasts

Good-to-Have Requirements

• Prior experience specifically at a regional OTT platform or with regional language content
• Understanding of international content markets and acquisition of foreign titles for Indian platforms
• Exposure to co-production or original content development discussions
• Knowledge of content delivery standards, technical specs, and metadata requirements for OTT platforms
• An existing network in the regional film or web series production ecosystem
• Familiarity with subscription growth metrics and how content drives platform KPIs like CTR, watch time, and churn
