CFD Analyst – Mechanical Design

Summary:

The CFD Analyst Mechanical Design will be responsible for carrying out the design & analysis of new development by coordinating with the Mechanical team & drive the project. Understand, analyse and coordinate with project team members to drive the project & coordinate with cross function teams to bring design to manufacture & design to cost.

Core Responsibilities:

• To deliver the requisites of the project by coordination
• Shall be able to perform CFD calculations & Mechanical analysis using analysis tools ANSYS CFX / FLUENT
• To understand the customer specification requirement and select/build the suitable motors
• Planning, Organizing, Directing and running optimum designs to exceed the customer expectations
• In-depth knowledge of rotating machines structure, Fan design & cooling mechanism to model airflow and thermal distribution

Other roles and responsibilities:

• Interact with the team in Europe (France/Italy) for understanding the product / process know how to carry out modifications or new designs
• To abide with NPD process (Gate deliverables) to complete the projects on time effectively
• To handle the Mechanical design Analysis part to obtain best in class motors coming out of the NPD & coordinate to interpret results and present them
• The new design to be developed for Global/India market requirements.

Key deliverables:

• Mechanical analysis results (ANSYS CFX / FLUENT)
• GATE deliverables by the team
• Designs with best in class with cost & time in consideration
• Handle relevant customer requirements / queries & order requisites for manufacturing
• Coordinate for proto developments & validation

Essentials:

Independently handling the Mechanical design & analysis part of the development of alternators/motors on LV, MV & HV range. Have hands on experience in Analysis part of mechanical design using tools & analytical calculations in project / NPD designs. Worked in CFD projects in rotating machines industry (preferred) or from software services companies like HCL, TCS

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor/Masters in Mechanical engineering.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience (overall) working for a multi-national organization
• Handson on the multiple analysis tools
• Excellent Computer and presentation skills.
• Work exposure in matrix organization reporting.
• Language(s) & level: Fluent in English, Hindi and Kannada.
