Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cassandra DBA to design, implement, manage, and optimize distributed database systems using Apache Cassandra. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in handling large-scale, high-availability environments and ensuring database performance, security, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Apache Cassandra clusters in production environments
• Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and scalability
• Perform database tuning, capacity planning, and performance optimization
• Manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
• Handle data modeling and schema design for Cassandra-based applications
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting (Shell, Python, etc.)
• Monitor cluster health using tools like Prometheus and Grafana
• Work closely with DevOps and application teams for deployments and upgrades
• Ensure data security, access control, and compliance with policies
• Perform patching, upgrades, and cluster expansions

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Apache Cassandra administration
• Good understanding of distributed systems and NoSQL architecture
• Expertise in replication, partitioning, and data consistency models
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments
• Knowledge of backup/recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, etc.)
• Scripting skills in Shell/Python
