C++ Project Manager

About Position:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Stack Developer (C/C++) to join our team working on next-generation firewall platforms, including SonicOS Gen 7 and Gen 8. These platforms introduce advanced capabilities such as a modernized UI, TLS 1.3 decryption, multi-instance enterprise support, native ZTNA, and enhanced cloud management tailored for Managed Service Providers (MSPs). In this role, you will contribute to the core firmware and networking stack that powers mission-critical security features. You will play a key role in ensuring high-performance packet processing, robust security enforcement, and continuous innovation across firewall technologies.

What You'll Do:

• Develop Secure Network Stack Components: Design and implement data-plane networking features using C and C++, focusing on high-performance and secure packet processing.
• Core OS & Firmware Development: Build and maintain kernel modules, device drivers, and low-level system components on embedded platforms.
• Network Protocol Implementation: Develop and enhance protocol stacks including Layer 3 & Layer 4, IPSec, VXLAN, SSL VPN, and other secure communication protocols.
• Security Feature Integration: Implement advanced security mechanisms such as TLS 1.3 decryption, ZTNA, secure boot, encryption modules, and access control systems.
• Vulnerability Analysis & Mitigation: Identify and fix security issues like buffer overflows, race conditions, and memory leaks, and apply OS hardening techniques.
• Performance Optimization: Ensure optimal throughput and latency by tuning system-level performance in real-time and embedded environments.
• High Availability & Scalability: Develop features supporting multi-instance deployments and high availability on network devices/cards.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with hardware, QA, and cloud teams to ensure seamless feature integration across the product lifecycle.
• Code Review & Documentation: Conduct in-depth code audits and maintain technical documentation for architecture, design, and security practices.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong programming expertise in C and C++, with focus on:
• Memory management
• Multithreading and concurrency
• Deep understanding of Operating System internals:
• Process scheduling
• Memory management
• File systems
• Hands-on experience with low-level programming and hardware interaction
• Proven experience in:
• Data-plane network stack development
• DPDK / OpenDataPlane (OPD) frameworks
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies:
• IPSec, VXLAN
• Layer 3 / Layer 4 protocols
• SSL VPN
• Experience with high availability systems in networking environments
