BIW Process Engineer

Objective of Position: A Body in White Fixture design Engineer having strong experience on Concept Design & 3D finishing of complex BIW fixtures, manufacturing and assembly process is required to work a long term either in offshore or onsite for a leading Automotive company.

Responsibilities: As a Body in White Fixture Design Engineer, you will be responsible for Conceptual design, 3D Finish, 2D Layout and detailing of BIW fixtures and its Components, Process documentation to buy off the concepts to the Customers as per the timeline.

Job Description:

• A 2-6 Experience in Process engineering of BIW assembly lines for Underbody, Body side and Closures.
• Experience on Build sequence, Lay-out Creation, Gant preparation.
• Creation of Joint allocation, Clamping Plan, Panel Loading and Unloading Sequence.
• Understanding of Floor, Equipment and Manning utilizations
• Understanding of Weld Gun Validation and Ergonomics analysis.
• Process review and Buy off the concepts with customers.
• Maintain the equipment list and head count as per Customer standards.
• Maintain First Time Quality as per the Customer Standards.

Skills and Experience:

Technical

• Design experience in BIW welding fixtures and its components
• Designing from concept level in 3D and detailing experience with Customer standards
• Good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly process generation, weld gun validation.
• Good understanding of automotive BIW welding processes like spot welding, arc welding, material handling & Roller hemming will be advantage,
• Good Knowledge of GD&T and detailing.
• Hands on experience in Catia V5 (Part Modeling, Assembly and Detailing modules), Vismockup, Team Center, Auto CAD.

Personal

• Ability to work to high quality in Stringent deadlines
• Should be able to handle team.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks and manage priorities.
• Should be able to handle the tasks independently.
• Good communicator both verbal and written English

IT

• PC literate in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Ideally qualified to degree level in manufacturing or mechanical engineering with 2-5 years of experience
