BESS Pilot Line

Role Purpose

To lead end-to-end prototype development, pilot deployment, and testing & validation of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions, ensuring product reliability, performance, and compliance prior to commercialization.

Key Responsibilities:

Prototype & Pilot Development

• Lead development of BESS prototypes from concept to functional validation
• Define prototype architecture including battery packs, PCS, EMS, and integration components
• Drive pilot project execution for new BESS solutions in real-world conditions
• Collaborate with design, system engineering, and product teams for iterative improvements

Testing & Validation Strategy

• Define validation plans for electrical, thermal, mechanical, and safety performance
• Establish test protocols aligned with global standards (UL, IEC, BIS, etc.)
• Oversee functional, performance, and reliability testing of BESS systems
• Validate system performance across various use cases (grid-scale, C&I, hybrid, etc.)

Lab & Test Infrastructure

• Set up and manage BESS testing labs and pilot facilities
• Define equipment requirements for battery, PCS, and system-level testing
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, and safe lab operations

Compliance & Certification

• Drive certification readiness for regulatory and customer requirements
• Coordinate with certification bodies and testing agencies
• Ensure compliance with grid codes, safety standards, and customer specifications

Data Analysis & Improvement

• Analyze test results and identify design improvements
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Provide validation reports for product release and commercialization

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with product design, system engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams
• Support transition from prototype to production readiness
• Provide technical inputs for customer demos and pilot deployments

Team Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing testing and validation team
• Drive technical capability development in BESS testing
• Establish validation governance and documentation practices

Key Skills

• Strong expertise in BESS system architecture and integration
• Experience in battery testing, PCS validation, and EMS functionality
• Knowledge of global BESS standards (UL 9540, IEC 62619, IEC 62933, etc.)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience in pilot deployment and field validation
• Leadership and stakeholder management

Experience

• 15+ years in energy storage, power systems, or power electronics
• Minimum 5+ years in BESS testing, validation, or prototype development
• Experience in grid-scale or C&I BESS solutions preferred

Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical / Electronics / Power Systems
• M.Tech or specialization in Energy Storage / Power Systems (preferred)
