Job Title: Backup Consultant

Years of Experience: 8 to 15 Years

Work Location: Bangalore

Mode: 5 days work from office

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead Cyber Recovery solution and proposal development once project goals and objectives have been defined.
• Operate as a subject matter expert on Cyber Recovery solutions within the Consulting practice, including managing large customer engagements, delivering technical Cyber Recovery workshops to customers, and interpreting/managing complex Statements of Work (SOWs).
• Have full oversight of Cyber Recovery solutions at all stages of the lifecycle from initial requirement gathering/validation, through to solution design and delivery.
• Plan implementations and advance strategies for new initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

• Total of 8+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure, backup technologies, cyber recovery, resiliency, and disaster recovery architecture
• Lead end-to-end installation, deployment, and configuration of:

1. Dell EMC Avamar
2. Dell EMC Networker
3. Dell EMC Power Protect Data Manager (PPDM)

• Design scalable, secure, and high-availability backup architectures aligned with business SLAs, RPO, and RTO.
• Integrate backup solutions with Data Domain, Cloud Storage, and Object Storage platforms.
• Perform daily backup administration, including:

1. Policy creation and optimization
2. Backup scheduling and monitoring
3. Capacity planning and performance tuning

• Manage backups for virtual, physical, database, NAS, and cloud workloads.
• Ensure compliance, retention policies, encryption, and immutability are properly implemented.
• Lead complex troubleshooting of backup failures, restore issues, performance bottlenecks, and data integrity problems.
• Own end-to-end backup migration planning and execution, including:

1. Avamar to PPDM
2. Networker to PPDM
3. Legacy backup platforms to modern architectures

• Lead re-platforming initiatives aligned with cloud adoption, data center modernization, and security enhancements.
• Implement cyber-resilient backup strategies, including:

1. Airgap and immutable backups
2. Ransomware recovery readiness
3. Ensure alignment with audit, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

• Must have strong consulting skills, executive presence to engage with customer, conduct customer workshops, drive requirements, drive methodology, strong documentation skills.
• Advanced knowledge, understanding and application of project management principles and methodologies.
• Experience in Professional Services/Consulting Delivery
