Were hiring a Python-focused Backend / AI Engineer to join the founding engineering team of a fast-growing AI startup building next-generation intelligent systems and infrastructure.

This is a high-ownership role for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems, building scalable products from scratch, and working closely with founders.

What youll work on:

Build scalable, customer-facing backend applications and AI systems

Design and optimize high-performance APIs and distributed services

Work on GenAI/LLM-powered workflows and intelligent infrastructure

Collaborate across product, business, and engineering teams

Drive architecture, reliability, scalability, and technical direction

Convert ambiguous requirements into production-ready solutions

Requirements:

5+ years of core software engineering experience building scalable applications

2+ years of hands-on experience in the Generative AI / LLM domain

Strong proficiency in Python and backend engineering

Experience with:

- NumPy

- Pandas

- Scikit-learn

- PyTorch

- TensorFlow

Strong understanding of:

- Transformer architectures

- Hugging Face ecosystem

- OpenAI / Anthropic APIs

- Vision models or foundation models

Strong debugging, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities

Ability to operate with extreme ownership and move fast in startup environments

Ability to context-switch between business strategy, product thinking, and deep technical execution

Preferred:

Experience building AI infrastructure or ML platforms

Experience with distributed systems and scalable backend architectures

Familiarity with Kubernetes, event-driven systems, or cloud-native platforms

Startup or product company background

Experience building production-grade AI applications
