Backend / Data Systems Engineer (Python)

What this role is

Daixta is building a financial intelligence layer for lending, starting with how bank statement data is interpreted in underwriting workflows.

You will work on an existing production system, improving how financial data is processed, structured, and used in decision workflows.

This is an execution-focused role, not an exploratory one.

What you will do

- Build and improve backend systems and data pipelines (PDF structured data)

- Handle real-world inconsistencies and edge cases in financial data

- Implement clear, deterministic logic (not ML experimentation)

- Improve and extend an existing production system

- Deliver production-ready outputs, not drafts

What we are looking for

- Strong backend development experience (Python preferred)

- Experience building production systems end-to-end

- Experience working with non-standard / inconsistent data

- Ability to make implementation decisions independently

- Ability to think in systems and logic, not just code

This role is not

- Not an ML / AI research role

- Not a data science experimentation role

- Not a junior or entry-level position

- Not suitable if you are managing multiple active projects

- Accountability for real outputs
