Hiring: Senior Backend Engineer (Go) CI/CD + SOC 2 Focus (5+ Years)

About Glimpse

Glimpse is a financial prediction market platform that lets people take positions on the future of different financial assets starting with Bitcoin and expanding from there. We're operating under a Class T license from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), which gives us a regulated foundation to build serious, compliant financial infrastructure from day one.

We're building a high-impact fintech backend and looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help us scale the product, harden our platform, and lead engineering maturity across delivery and compliance.

If you thrive in ownership-heavy environments and can drive both architecture quality and release reliability, this role is for you.

What you'll do

• Lead backend improvements in a production Go system (API, services, data layer, realtime flows).
• Refactor and modernize core modules for reliability, maintainability, and performance.
• Build and own robust CI/CD pipelines from PR to production.
• Drive technical implementation for SOC 2 readiness (with security/compliance stakeholders).
• Improve observability, incident readiness, testing quality, and release confidence.
• Mentor engineers and establish strong backend engineering standards.

Must-have experience

• 5+ years in backend software engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Go for production systems.
• Deep experience with API design, auth/RBAC, and secure backend development.
• Strong PostgreSQL and schema migration practices.
• Proven track record building and operating CI/CD (GitHub Actions or similar).
• Experience with Dockerized services and cloud-native deployment practices.
• Ability to improve legacy codebases safely while shipping features.

SOC 2 responsibilities (core to this role)

• Translate SOC 2 controls into practical engineering implementations.
• Implement auditable SDLC controls: approvals, traceable changes, release governance.
• Strengthen access control, logging/monitoring, vulnerability response, and backup/recovery evidence.
• Partner with compliance/GRC to produce clear, auditor-ready technical artifacts.

CI/CD expectations

• Build multi-stage pipelines with linting, tests, security scans, and deployment gates.
• Enforce branch protection and mandatory quality checks before merge/release.
• Improve test determinism and reduce pipeline flakiness.
• Implement safe rollout/rollback patterns with clear deployment audit trails.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech/payments or regulated products.
• Exposure to websocket/realtime architectures and Redis-based patterns.
• Familiarity with gRPC ecosystems.
• Preferred frontend experience: Next.js + Tailwind CSS (for internal dashboards/admin tools and strong backend-frontend collaboration).
