Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer / AEM Developer

Duration: 6 months+

ABOUT THE ROLE

Senior-level Backend Engineer / AEM Developer to enhance digital experience capabilities. The ideal candidate will deliver technical excellence, integrate into existing workflows and governance structures, and drive measurable improvements in platform performance, user experience, and operational efficiency.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead AEM component development, template creation, and OSGi service implementation aligned with enterprise architecture standards

Design and develop Sling models, HTL/Sightly templates, and workflow customizations to support digital initiatives

Build and integrate RESTful APIs to extend AEM platform capabilities and support backend services

Proactively identify and reduce technical debt while improving platform stability and performance

Collaborate with stakeholders to respond to business requirements and adapt to evolving project priorities

Contribute to continuous improvement of the AEM implementation through problem-solving

Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and cross-functional team collaboration within governance structures

Support faster time-to-market for digital initiatives through efficient, high-quality development practices

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

810+ years of experience in backend engineering and enterprise content management systems

Hands-on expertise with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) development across multiple versions

Proficiency in Java/J2EE technologies, including OSGi frameworks and component lifecycle management

Strong experience in AEM development: Sling models, HTL/Sightly, workflow customization, and dispatcher configuration

Experience with RESTful API design, integration, and consumption within AEM environments

Experience working in Agile/Scrum development methodologies in enterprise settings

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with ability to explain technical concepts

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience delivering quality solutions

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Adobe Cloud Manager

Knowledge of front-end technologies (JavaScript, React, or Angular)

Experience in client-facing or consulting engagements.
