Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Azure Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions on the cloud. This role involves modernizing legacy systems and developing a robust, enterprise-grade data lake architecture.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Azure data services, distributed data processing, and building high-performance data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable data lake solutions for structured and unstructured data
• Migrate and modernize on-premise data systems to cloud-native architectures
• Build and automate ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Spark
• Collaborate with data architects and stakeholders to define data models and transformation logic
• Implement data governance practices including metadata management, data cataloguing, and lineage tracking
• Perform data profiling, validation, and cleansing to ensure data quality
• Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance and cost efficiency
• Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance standards are maintained
• Integrate third-party data sources, APIs, and internal systems into the data platform
• Maintain clear documentation of data architecture, pipelines, and workflows

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering and cloud-based data platforms
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure services such as:
• Azure Data Factory
• Azure Synapse Analytics
• Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2
• Azure SQL
• 2+ years of experience with Databricks and Spark
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and distributed data processing
• Experience with data modeling (relational and distributed systems)
• Understanding of data lake architecture (raw, curated, trusted layers)
• Strong knowledge of data quality, validation, and governance frameworks
• Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills

Education

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer (Associate/Professional)
