Job Description: MSSP Engineering Development Engineer
Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and motivated MSSP Development Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on developing and integrating tools to enhance our security operations, implementing hyper automation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong coding skills, experience in security technologies, and a passion for innovation in the cybersecurity space.
Key Responsibilities:
Tool Development and Integration
- Design and develop custom tools to enhance security operations using languages such as Python, Java, or Rust.
- Integrate third-party security solutions (e.g., SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS) with existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Automation and Scripting
- Create automation scripts (Bash, PowerShell, Python) to streamline repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement playbooks for automated incident response using orchestration tools and frameworks.
Research and Development
- Stay updated on the latest security technologies, threats, and best practices through continuous research and professional development.
- Conduct evaluations of new tools and solutions for potential adoption, providing recommendations based on findings.
System Architecture and Design
- Assist in the design of scalable and secure architectures for security solutions, focusing on cloud and on-premises environments.
- Review and enhance existing system architectures based on industry best practices and performance metrics.
Testing and Validation
- Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans for new tools and configurations to ensure functionality and security.
- Validate security measures and configurations to ensure effectiveness and compliance with organizational standards.
Documentation and Knowledge Transfer
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all developed tools, processes, and architectures.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for operational teams to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure effective tool usage.
Collaboration with Other Teams
- Work closely with security analysts, SOC operations, and product teams to align on requirements, improvements, and security posture.
- Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing overall security capabilities and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Go.
- 5-7 years of experience with automation and scripting in Bash, PowerShell, or similar.
- Familiarity with hyper automation concepts and tools (e.g., Torq.io, workflow automation).
- Knowledge of security technologies (SIEM, SOAR, IDS/IPS) and best practices.
- Experience in system architecture design, particularly in security solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, Security+, or similar).
- Familiarity with cloud security solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience in DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines).
