Associate Manager - Equity Dealer

About the Team

The Investments team at Navi AMC is responsible for managing all mutual fund schemes.

The team oversees stock selection within the defined investment framework for active

schemes and ensures efficient and precise portfolio deployment for passive schemes in line

with their respective benchmark indices.

About the Role

The Equity Dealer is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of equity trades

across mutual fund schemes in line with approved investment decisions. The role involves

close coordination with the fund management, research, risk, compliance, operations teams

and external brokers to ensure efficient trade execution, optimal market impact, and

adherence to internal processes and regulatory guidelines. The Equity Dealer plays a critical

role in supporting portfolio implementation, liquidity management, and smooth day-to-day

functioning of the investment desk.

Must Haves

Candidates with 13 years of experience in trading, broking support, or financial markets are preferred

Academic qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Finance, Commerce (B.Com), Economics, MBA (Finance), CA, CFP, or a related field is preferred

NISM/NCFM certifications - especially modules related to equity dealing or derivatives are preferred

Experience should include working on equity trading desks, familiarity with order

management systems, trade execution best practices, and market microstructure.

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with dealers and market

participants to support efficient trade execution.

What We Expect From You

Execute trades accurately and efficiently in line with fund manager instructions

and approved investment decisions, while minimising market impact and transaction costs through effective execution strategies and liquidity assessment

Manage the complete order lifecycle, including order placement, monitoring, modifications, and timely resolution of execution issues, supported by close monitoring of market conditions, liquidity, and intraday developments

Maintain strong relationships with brokers and counterparties to ensure consistent market access, high execution quality, and effective handling of large flows, rebalancing activities, and corporate actions

Execute routine operational tasks with respect to Index Funds:

This includes creation and ongoing maintenance of index files, timely rebalancing of constituents, prompt incorporation of corporate action adjustments, and ensuring all files are accurate, complete, and error-free.

Ensure high standards of operational discipline and professional conduct, including accurate trade reporting, confirmations, post-trade follow-ups, and strict adherence to confidentiality, ethics, and regulatory requirements

Support securities lending and borrowing activities, including coordination with counterparties and internal teams, ensuring optimal utilisation, timely settlements, and adherence to regulatory and internal guidelines.
