Associate – Finance & Assurance | CA Mandatory

We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant with a Big 4 audit and assurance background to join our finance team in Chennai. This role is ideal for a fresher CA who brings strong technical grounding in audit methodology, financial reporting standards, and risk-based thinking - and is ready to apply that expertise in a dynamic in-house environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support internal and statutory audit cycles, coordinating with external auditors and relevant business units.
• Prepare, review, and finalize financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting standards (Ind AS / IFRS / US GAAP).
• Assist in designing and testing internal controls; identify gaps and recommend remediation measures.
• Conduct risk assessments and support implementation of audit findings and management action plans.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis.
• Maintain comprehensive audit documentation and ensure readiness for regulatory inspections.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations teams to gather and validate financial data.
• Assist in managing statutory compliances including GST, TDS, and other direct/indirect tax obligations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) - fresher or up to 1 year of post-qualification experience.
• Articleship completed at a Big 4 firm with primary exposure to audit and assurance engagements.
• Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS, and US GAAP reporting standards, and Companies Act 2013 requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data modelling) and MS Office suite.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, audit risk frameworks, and financial close processes.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and meet strict deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder-facing documentation and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) during articleship or academic projects.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools or audit software (IDEA, ACL, Power BI) is a plus.
• Prior involvement in listed company or SaaS / software / technology sector audits preferred.
• Understanding of transfer pricing, tax audits, or management reporting is an advantage.
