We are seeking an accomplished Associate Director of EHS to lead safety across a rapidly expanding portfolio of largescale development projects in India. This role provides nationallevel ownership of construction safety, strategic leadership across multiple stakeholders, and the opportunity to shape and mature a bestinclass EHS operating model.


About the Role

As the senior EHS leader for India, you will:

  • Lead countrylevel EHS governance, performance, and strategic direction across all development projects.
  • Build and develop a highperforming safety team, including internal staff, consultants, and embedded project resources.
  • Provide expert guidance to senior leadership, project directors, contractors, and delivery partners.
  • Drive Safety in Design, preconstruction planning, and earlystage risk identification.
  • Ensure contractors, consultants, and suppliers meet stringent safety expectations from mobilisation through commissioning.
  • Establish and maintain a robust EHS management system aligned with Indian legislation and global best practice.
  • Lead assurance activities including project reviews, contractor maturity assessments, critical control verification, and leadership reporting.
  • Influence procurement, contract strategy, and vendor selection to embed strong safety requirements.
  • Oversee incident management, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support crossfunctional teams across design, development, operations, procurement, and sustainability.


What You Bring


  • 15+ years EHS leadership experience in highhazard industries (construction, oil & gas, mining, industrial, or similar).
  • Strong experience managing contractors and complex construction activities in India.
  • Deep capability in risk management, Safety in Design, critical control management, assurance, and incident investigation.
  • Proven ability to influence senior executives, project directors, and general contractor leadership.
  • Experience building and maturing safety management systems.
  • A practical, persuasive leadership style with strong coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fastgrowth, highperformance environment.
  • Fluent in English.
