Brainware University invites applications from accomplished and result-oriented professionals with a proven track record in securing, developing, and managing government-funded, public-sector-supported, CSR-supported, and externally funded projects.
As part of its plan to strengthen sponsored research, project acquisition, and institutional research development, the University seeks suitable candidates who can contribute meaningfully to project identification, proposal development, institutional networking, submission, execution support, reporting, and faculty capacity building.
Position:
Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor
with primary responsibility in securing funded Research projects and augmenting the institutional research
Designation will be decided based on qualifications, experience, academic credentials, funded-project track record, and overall suitability.
Functional Areas:
Candidates with a relevant background may belong to one or more of the following domains:
- Computer Science
- Other engineering disciplines
- Basic Science
- Biotechnology
- Pharmaceutical Technology
- Agriculture
- Psychology
- Environmental Science
- Art and Culture
- Any other allied interdisciplinary area with strong Government / PSU / CSR / public-sector project potential
Role Purpose:
The selected candidate will play a major role in strengthening the Universitys project acquisition and execution capability, especially in relation to Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, CSR-supported initiatives, research agencies, and institutional funding opportunities.
The position is intended for academically grounded professionals who can combine project development, external engagement, research strategy, proposal writing, and project implementation support with limited teaching and faculty training responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify suitable funding opportunities from Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings, CSR channels, and allied agencies
- Develop high-quality project proposals submission
- Build and maintain working relationships with funding agencies, public sector bodies, research partners, CSR units, and other external stakeholders
- Ensure project implementation, compliance documentation, utilization reporting, review submissions, and project monitoring processes
- Maintain a structured pipeline of project opportunities, submissions, deadlines, and follow-up actions
- Contribute to institutional research strategy, sponsored project growth, interdisciplinary collaboration, and partnership development
- Conduct faculty development and internal training sessions on proposal writing, project structuring, funding readiness, documentation, and related research processes
- Undertake limited academic responsibilities, including selected teaching, mentoring, or research guidance aligned with the candidates domain expertise
Job Profile Split:
- 75% securing funded research projects & implementation thereof with necessary documentation.
- 25% Faculty training for project writing and limited teaching responsibilities
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in obtaining, preparing, coordinating, or implementing Government / PSU / CSR / externally funded projects
- Strong proposal writing, documentation, and project development skills
- Ability to work across departments and interdisciplinary themes
- Strong communication, presentation, networking, and institutional coordination ability
- Exposure to AI tools for research support, drafting, analysis, documentation, or project development
- Good professional presence and ability to represent the University before external stakeholders
Preferred Profile:
- Prior experience in universities, research centres, consulting organisations, NGOs, think tanks, public policy projects, innovation cells, incubation ecosystems, or sponsored research cells
- Familiarity with funding bodies, CSR ecosystems, and institutional project procedures
- Exposure to project budgeting, compliance, implementation tracking, impact documentation, and review presentation
- Evidence of research publications, academic engagement will be an added advantage
Qualifications:
- Postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline is essential.
- PhD will be preferred, especially for higher faculty positions.
- Candidates with a strong funded-project track record, excellent proposal-writing ability, and relevant institutional experience may be considered on merit, subject to University norms.
Location: Brainware University, West Bengal
Compensation:
Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, experience, academic standing, project track record, and relevance of expertise.
In addition to the fixed monthly salary, selected candidates may also be eligible to receive incentives based on the sanctioned project values, as per University policy and applicable norms.
