Post-Trade Surveillance Role Overview:

The Investment Guidelines team is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Consultant with a strong risk mindset to support and manage complex post-trade surveillance processes. This role involves overseeing daily portfolio monitoring activities to ensure compliance with client mandates and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will gain exposure to a wide range of investment strategies, including fixed income, quantitative equity, fundamental equity, and external investments, across diverse financial instruments. The role requires proactive problem-solving, stakeholder collaboration, and leadership capabilities to guide team members and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily portfolio and trade surveillance to ensure compliance with client guidelines and regulatory requirements across Asset & Wealth Management (AWM) strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze investment guideline breaches and work closely with portfolio managers, traders, compliance, and other stakeholders to resolve exceptions.
  • Conduct independent reviews of rules configured within guideline monitoring systems.
  • Prepare and deliver periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) compliance reports to clients.
  • Generate weekly risk metrics reports for management, including insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with global teams across regions to ensure seamless execution of processes.
  • Support and help manage a team in Bengaluru, partnering with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of compliance frameworks and operational infrastructure.
  • Partner with business, technology, and engineering teams to define and implement scalable compliance solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Approximately 8 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Hands-on experience with investment guideline monitoring platforms such as Sentinel, BlackRock Aladdin, or Charles River IMS.
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments including equities, fixed income, currencies, and derivatives.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and work in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive consensus and contribute to high-impact strategic initiatives.
