Position Summary
We are looking for an AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered applications and intelligent agents tailored for the renewable energy sector. The role sits at the intersection of applied AI, software engineering, and domain expertise, and will drive the next generation of our internal and market-facing products.
Building on the success of our existing platforms, the AI Engineer will play a central role in advancing our shift toward agentic, AI-native solutions, enabling smarter automation, faster decision-making, and measurable productivity gains across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- AI Solution Development: Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML and Generative AI solutions across internal tools and customer-facing products.
- Agentic Application Development: Build specialized, domain-aware agents for the renewable energy sector to automate technical, commercial, and analytical workflows.
- Model Strategy & Usage: Evaluate, integrate, and optimize the use of foundation models (LLMs, multimodal, and domain-specific models) across applications, balancing performance, cost, and reliability.
- AI Adoption & Enablement: Drive AI adoption across the organization by identifying high-impact use cases, building proof-of-concepts, and enabling teams to embed AI in day-to-day workflows.
- Productivity & Automation: Develop AI-driven tools, copilots, and automations that improve efficiency for engineering, design, project development, and business teams.
- System Architecture: Architect scalable, production-ready AI systems including data pipelines, APIs, model serving, monitoring, and feedback loops.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, software engineers, domain experts, and leadership to translate business needs into robust AI solutions.
- Quality, Safety & Governance: Implement responsible AI practices including evaluation frameworks, guardrails, data privacy, and governance.
- Innovation & Research: Stay current with advancements in AI/ML, agentic frameworks, and tooling, and translate them into actionable opportunities for the company.
Educational and Technical Skills
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, engineering, or a related field.
- Any additional credentials that reflect an ability to operate out of the box such as having background in finance, operations, strategy will be considered a plus
Preferred Skills
Software Proficiency:
- Proven experience designing, building, and deploying AI/ML or Generative AI applications in production environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python and modern AI/ML libraries and frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face).
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs and Generative AI (prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, evaluation).
- Experience building agentic systems using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals APIs, microservices, version control, testing, and CI/CD.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong skills in data engineering building reliable pipelines, working with structured and unstructured data, and integrating multiple data sources.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear technical solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Renewable Energy Systems:
- Understanding of solar energy systems and their integration into existing infrastructure
Experience
- Prior experience working in or developing tools for the renewable energy, power, or infrastructure sectors.
- Familiarity with solar PV concepts, energy modeling, GIS data, or techno-commercial analysis.
- Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector) and modern AI tooling for retrieval and memory.
- Exposure to MLOps / LLMOps practices model versioning, observability, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Experience building internal AI copilots, chat interfaces, or workflow automation tools.
- Contributions to open-source AI projects, publications, or technical writing.
