Job Description:

We are looking for a Product Support Engineer to support and maintain data platforms and production systems for a cloud-based EdTech environment. The role involves troubleshooting Spark/Hive jobs, monitoring ETL workflows, handling production incidents, supporting batch processes, and ensuring platform reliability.

The ideal candidate should have experience in production/application support along with exposure to big data technologies and data engineering workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and support production applications, Spark jobs, and batch workflows
• Troubleshoot ETL/data pipeline failures and perform root cause analysis (RCA)
• Support Hive/Spark-based data processing systems and investigate job failures
• Handle L1/L2/L3 production support incidents and maintain SLA adherence
• Perform SQL queries, log analysis, and data validation for issue resolution
• Work with APIs, backend systems, and production logs for troubleshooting
• Coordinate with engineering and data teams for deployments, fixes, and enhancements
• Monitor job executions, alerts, and system health proactively
• Maintain RCA documents, incident reports, and support documentation

Required Skills:

• Experience in Product/Application/Production Support
• Hands-on exposure to Apache Spark, Hive, or big data ecosystems
• Understanding of ETL/data pipelines and batch processing workflows
• Strong SQL knowledge
• Experience in API troubleshooting and log analysis
• Linux/Unix basics and scripting exposure
• Familiarity with monitoring/ticketing tools like Jira, Kibana, Splunk, ServiceNow, etc.
• Exposure to Python or Shell scripting
• Good understanding of incident management and production support processes

Good to Have:

• Exposure to Airflow, Hadoop ecosystem, or Kafka
• Experience supporting SaaS or data-driven platforms
• Understanding of cloud-based production environments
