Role Overview

The Application Support and Maintenance Engineer will monitor the health of the platform, troubleshoot technical issues, and support the engineering team in maintaining system reliability. This role works closely with engineering and product teams to identify issues, investigate root causes, and ensure smooth platform operations.


Key Responsibilities

Application Monitoring & Incident Management

  • Monitor application health, uptime, and system performance.
  • Identify and respond to system alerts, failures, and performance issues.
  • Diagnose production incidents and escalate complex issues when necessary.


Technical Troubleshooting

  • Investigate issues reported by users, internal teams, or monitoring systems.
  • Analyze application logs, APIs, and service behavior to identify root causes.
  • Reproduce and document bugs and coordinate with engineering teams for resolution.
  • Troubleshoot issues using established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).


Production Support

  • Provide operational support for production systems.
  • Monitor system stability during application releases and deployments.
  • Verify platform functionality after updates or configuration changes.


Documentation

  • Maintain documentation of known issues, troubleshooting steps, and incident reports.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge bases and technical documentation.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 24 years of experience in application support, production support, or technical support roles.
  • Experience supporting web or mobile applications in production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with ticketing tools such as Jira or similar systems.
  • Ability to diagnose issues using logs, error reports, and monitoring tools.


Technical Skills

Backend & Application Architecture

  • Strong understanding of Node.js backend systems
  • Experience with NestJS / TypeScript-based services
  • Understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture
  • Ability to debug API failures, logs, and service interactions
  • Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and layered architecture
  • Understanding of event-driven architectures
  • Ability to troubleshoot asynchronous workflows and message failures


Systems & Infrastructure

  • Understanding of web application architecture
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools


Tools

  • Git and version control systems
  • Issue tracking tools (Jira or similar)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting SaaS platforms or digital products
  • Experience working in startup or fast-paced product environments
  • Familiarity with DevOps or site reliability engineering practices

Salary Range: 10,000-15,000/month
