AI Design Tools Instructor & Architecture Studio Assistant

We are looking for a creative and technically skilled individual to help our architecture studio learn, explore, and integrate AI tools into the design process, along with supporting digital fabrication and 3D printing workflows.

The role involves teaching AI tools to architects and design teams, assisting with AI-based workflows, and supporting projects through concept development, visualisation, research, presentations, diagrams, design narratives, model-making, and 3D printing.

Position Details

Role: AI Design Tools Instructor & Architecture Studio Assistant

Location: Studio-based

Type: Full-time

Experience: 15 years, depending on skill and portfolio

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on training sessions and workshops for the studio team.
• Assist architects in using AI tools for design exploration, image generation, mood boards, diagrams, presentations, and project narratives.
• Support 3D printing workflows, including model preparation, file checking, slicing, material selection, and print coordination.
• Develop prompt libraries, workflow guides, and best practices for AI use in architecture.
• Explore new AI platforms and identify tools relevant to architectural design, documentation, communication, and fabrication.
• Support the studio in improving design efficiency while maintaining quality, originality, and design intent.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of architecture, design process, and visual communication.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, DALLE, Runway, Krea, Adobe Firefly, Stable Diffusion, or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of 3D printing, digital model preparation, STL/OBJ files, slicing software, scale models, materials, and fabrication workflows.
• Ability to write effective prompts for architectural design, imagery, storytelling, and presentations.
• Familiarity with design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Rhino, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion, Enscape, or similar tools will be an advantage.
• Good communication and teaching skills.

Education Profile

Preferred background in Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Design, Computational Design, Visual Communication, Digital Design, Creative Technology, Animation, Multimedia Design, Product Design, Digital Fabrication, or a related field.

A formal degree in architecture is preferred but not mandatory, provided the candidate has strong design understanding, visual sensibility, practical experience with AI tools, and knowledge of 3D printing.

Preferred Qualities

Creative, curious, collaborative, process-oriented, and comfortable experimenting with new tools, technologies, and fabrication methods.
