About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Aero Engine Design Assessment Engineer to support non-conformance (concession) analysis for aerospace components. This role involves evaluating manufacturing deviations, performing fit, form, and function analysis, and driving engineering decisions to ensure product safety and design integrity.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and NX (UGNX), along with exposure to aero engine components and design validation processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review manufacturing inputs including CMM reports, dimensional data, and process deviations to understand non-conformances.
- Perform design assessment and validation of non-conformances for fit, form, and function impact.
- Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis and evaluate dimensional variations.
- Prepare detailed engineering justification reports for acceptance, rejection, or rework of parts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and specialists (MRB, stress, materials, etc.) for resolution.
- Support technical reviews and decision-making discussions.
- Ensure adherence to aerospace product safety and compliance standards.
- Mentor junior engineers during ramp-up phases.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Aero Engine Components and aerospace design fundamentals.
- Expertise in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Hands-on experience with Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis.
- Proficiency in Siemens NX / UGNX.
- Experience in handling non-conformances, concessions, or MRB activities.
- Ability to interpret CMM reports and dimensional inspection data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for design issues and manufacturing deviations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- High focus on product safety and quality standards in aerospace.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with aerospace OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (FAA/EASA).
- Exposure to root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Prior involvement in continuous improvement / Lean initiatives.
- Leadership or mentoring experience in engineering teams.
Education
BE / B.Tech in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
Experience
15 years (relevant experience in aerospace design, concessions, or MRB activities)
