Role Title: Project Manager AD Decommissioning Programme
Experience: 10+ years
Mode: On Site
Role Purpose
The Project Manager will lead and coordinate the full (ADios) Active Directory Decommissioning Programme, consisting of nine technical workstreams. The PM is responsible for planning, governance, RAID management, resource coordination, cross-stream dependency orchestration, and ensuring the programme delivers safely and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Planning & Control
Build and maintain the master project plan across all nine workstreams.
Define critical paths, sequencing logic, and cross-stream dependencies.
Establish project governance framework, including stand-ups, working groups, steering committees, and reporting cycles.
2. Delivery Management
Drive workstream progress, ensuring technical teams maintain pace across analysis, remediation, migration, and decommissioning phases.
Remove blockers, facilitate decisions, and escalate issues promptly.
Ensure alignment to change, security, and operational readiness requirements.
3. Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary contact for senior leadership, programme sponsors, and technical stakeholders.
Communicate progress, risks, decisions, and impacts clearly and consistently.
Manage expectations regarding timelines, scope, and resource needs.
4. Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
Maintain the RAID log across all streams.
Identify emerging risks early and establish mitigation plans.
Oversee cross-stream dependency resolution, including sequencing of migrations and decommissioning steps.
5. Resource & Financial Oversight
Manage allocation of Stream Leads, SMEs, engineers, testers, and BAU participants.
Track budget, effort, and resourcing requirements as the programme evolves.
6. Governance & Documentation
Produce high-quality project artefacts including project plans, reports, options papers, and readiness documents.
Ensure all streams maintain documentation and handover materials for BAU.
7. Quality & Compliance
Ensure all changes follow defined security, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Oversee validation, testing, and acceptance of all migrated and decommissioned components.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience managing complex infrastructure or identity transformation programmes.
Strong understanding of Active Directory environments and typical migration challenges.
Exceptional organisational and planning skills.
Ability to manage multiple technical streams in parallel.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with C-suite or senior IT leadership.
Familiarity with ITIL processes, Agile project management, change management, and incident governance.
Desirable
Background in enterprise infrastructure, identity, cybersecurity, or cloud migrations.
Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, or similar.
