Staff Accountant Inventory Accounting & NetSuite

Position Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with expertise in inventory accounting, general ledger management, month-end close, and NetSuite Advanced Inventory. The role supports multiple operating companies, ensuring accurate inventory valuation, reconciliations, and financial reporting while partnering with Finance and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Accounting

• Manage and analyze inventory transactions using NetSuite Advanced Inventory.
• Perform monthly inventory account reconciliations and reconcile inventory subledgers to the GL.
• Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
• Review inventory adjustments, write-offs, transfers, and related transactions.
• Support inventory reserve calculations (excess & obsolete inventory).
• Analyze inventory aging and valuation.
• Ensure accurate inventory accounting and financial statement reporting.
• Support month-end inventory close activities.

General Accounting

• Prepare journal entries, supporting schedules, and account analyses.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with external audit requests and documentation.
• Maintain accounting records in compliance with US GAAP.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 45+ years of accounting experience.
• 13 years of inventory accounting experience.
• 2+ years of NetSuite experience.
• Strong knowledge of GL accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• CA or CPA candidate.
• Experience in multi-entity environments.
• External audit support experience.
• Knowledge of inventory costing methods: FIFO, Average Cost, Standard Cost.
